Welcome to International Public Health (IPH)

International Public Health (IPH) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to delivering essential healthcare, clean water, and food security to underserved and vulnerable populations worldwide. Our mission is to mobilize skilled medical, dental, and surgical teams, alongside dedicated non-medical volunteers, including public health professionals, engineers, and farmers, to address critical needs and improve healthcare access in communities globally.

At IPH, we believe that fundamental health knowledge, clean water, and nutritious food should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their location or social status. Our approach focuses on implementing sustainable, long-term solutions that empower communities while our global health volunteers engage in international outreach missions to provide immediate relief.

Through our collaborative efforts with local healthcare professionals and community members, we facilitate the exchange of knowledge and foster self-reliance. Our comprehensive support includes medical diagnoses and treatments, clean water projects, agricultural support, and education on preventative healthcare practices. Our enduring partnerships with local hosts and communities ensure that we can offer continuous support and create lasting impact.

Mission:

To provide healthcare, clean water, and food security to underserved and vulnerable populations worldwide by mobilizing skilled medical teams and volunteers, fostering partnerships, and addressing social determinants of health.

Vision:

To provide healthcare, clean water, and food security to underserved and vulnerable populations worldwide by mobilizing skilled medical teams and volunteers, fostering partnerships, and addressing social determinants of health.

Our History

Founded in 2021, the International Public Health Corps (IPHC) emerged from a deep frustration with the inefficiencies and cultural insensitivity observed in various sectors. IPHC was established with a commitment to cultural sensitivity and the avoidance of one-size-fits-all solutions, ensuring that we consider the perspectives and values of the communities we assist.

Our purpose is to tackle the social determinants of health that impact societies and to reach those most in need. By collaborating with a diverse team of healthcare professionals, engineers, and public health experts, we aim to provide not only assistance but also hope and empowerment, guiding communities toward prosperity and growth.

Values

Respect

We value diversity and cultural awareness in every mission, ensuring that solutions are locally relevant.

Equity

We prioritize equitable care and respect for all community members, focusing on marginalized groups.

Compassion

We embed empathy in every action, ensuring that understanding is at the core of our interactions.

Empowerment

We empower local leaders and volunteers to take ownership of solutions and innovate to sustain improvements.

Collaboration

We work closely with in-country hosts and local communities to build long-term, trusted partnerships.

Our Operations

Healthcare

IPH provides a wide range of global healthcare services, including medical and dental care, diagnosis, treatment, and essential medications. We address the healthcare needs of entire communities, from routine check-ups to critical treatments. Our approach starts with understanding the community’s cultural context and planning logistics to ensure effective and respectful service delivery.

Education

Education is a cornerstone of our mission. We offer customized health education programs and scholarships in partnership with universities and led by certified trainers. By equipping communities with knowledge and tools to address social determinants of health, we promote self-reliance and long-term improvements. Our education initiatives aim to strengthen global health capabilities and enhance community well-being.

Clean Water

Access to clean water is fundamental for community health. In many areas, people face the challenge of fetching unsafe water. IPH addresses this by constructing gravity-driven aqueducts in rural communities, breaking the cycle of poverty and improving health. We establish Water Committees to manage and maintain these systems, ensuring long-term sustainability and local ownership.

Food and Agriculture

Hunger affects millions worldwide, with vulnerable groups such as children, seniors, and minorities bearing a disproportionate burden. IPH combats hunger by supporting agricultural initiatives, creating community gardens, and distributing food boxes. Our efforts aim to reduce food insecurity and foster local food production, improving overall community health.

Disaster Response

As first responders, our Special Emergency Response Teams (SERTs) quickly mobilize to support disaster-affected areas. We adhere to SPHERE and WHO EMT guidelines to address immediate and critical needs, alleviating human suffering. Our teams provide comprehensive care to the most vulnerable, regardless of location or circumstances.

Core Values

Respect: We value diversity, equity, and respect within our organization and the communities we serve. Compassion, empowerment, and collaboration are central to our ethos.
